Subcutaneous injections on an ex vivo skin model

With the ex-vivo skin model "HypoSkin" developed by Genoskin, predictions can be made regarding the toxicity of substances after subcutaneous injection.
After subcutaneous injection of a pro-inflammatory cocktail of TNF α and lipopolysaccharide (LPS), morphological changes such as cell vacuole, spongiotic regions and degradation of collagen fibres could be observed, while fatty tissue showed a normal structure. The injection induced the release of various cytokines.
