Time-lapse of cell regeneration and wound healing

Company
Dartsch Scientific, Wagenfeld, Germany
Organ-specific adherent cells (e.g. fibroblasts, epithelial and endothelial cells) are seeded in silicone frames with bars of defined width and cultivated until confluence is reached. After removing the silicone frame, the confluent cell layer has defined cell-free spaces, which the cells repopulate through migration and increased division. The influence of a test substance on cell motility and wound healing can thus be quantified and dynamically visualized using microscopic time-lapse videos.
