The cardiac surgical model consists of a complete upper body with a head, mouth, throat and chest. It provides all features necessary for training in open-heart surgery with heart-lung by-pass machines. Correct anatomy, an adjustable beating heart and mimetic tissues allow realistic simulation training. All tissue elements are replaceable and suitable for multiple training sessions. Possible featured procedures are e.g. intubation and ventilation, veno-venous and veno-arterial ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) modalities, cannula placement and suturing, and coronary artery bypass grafting.
