In-vitro test for estrogen receptor agonists and antagonists
Validated Method 2016
European Union Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing, Ispra, Italy
The VM7Luc ER TA test method (also known as LUMI-CELL®) was developed by Xenobiotic Detection Systems, Inc. Recombinant VM7Luc4E2 cells emit detectable light in response to estrogen and estrogen-like substances. It is measured whether a substance induces or inhibits transcriptional activity via estrogen-receptor-mediated pathways in these cells. Validated and regulatory approved under TM2016-09 (US) by EURL ECVAM (TSAR list), OECD Test No. 457, responsible organization: ICCVAM/NICEATM (United States).
