Skin sensitisation determination by CD86-marker
Validated Method 2013
European Union Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing, Ispra, Italy
The U-SENS test detects whether a chemical has a sensitizing or non-sensitizing effect on the skin.
This test is based on the flow cytometry measurement of a protein marker produced by U937 cells exposed to test chemicals. This reaction is one of the reactions of a key event of the Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP), which is related to skin sensitization.
Validated and regulatory approved under TM2013-02 (EU) by EURL ECVAM (TSAR list), OECD Test No. 442E.
