EpiDermFT: Human skin model with co-culture of keratinocytes and fibroblasts

MatTek's 3D EpiDermFT system is designed for in vitro skin research where the interactions between fibroblasts and keratinocytes play an important role. It consists of normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEK) and normal human dermal fibroblasts (NHFB) cultured to form a multilayered model of the human dermis and epidermis. EpiDermFT is cultured at the air-liquid interface in easy-to-use tissue culture inserts. The epidermal and dermal layers are mitotically and metabolically active and exhibit in vivo-like morphological and growth characteristics that are uniform and highly reproducible.
