Testing contact lenses in artificially grown eyes

Animal-free testing of contact lenses is successfully conducted using artificial eyes generated by 3D-bioprinting in vitro. The artificial eye is costructed from human cells and other biomaterials. The technology is developed towards high-throughput application.
